Job summary

Verdant Cultivation Inc. in Parkville, MD, seeks a Shift Lead to support Budtenders, guide on the sales floor, and uphold brand standards amid a busy opening environment. The role emphasizes customer service, product knowledge, and teamwork to ensure a welcoming cannabis shopping experience.

You will help train Budtenders, manage breaks, assist with inventory, and communicate issues to management while delivering consistent, compliant service.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Must successfully complete onboarding, background-check, and MCA Agent requirements.
• Previous retail, customer service, sales, hospitality, or cannabis experience required or strongly preferred.
• Previous Budtender or retail lead experience preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Friendly and approachable with a wide range of customers.
• Comfortable guiding coworkers and reporting to a manager.
• Comfortable with administrative tasks as needed.
• Willingness to learn new systems and follow procedures.
• Ability to adapt to a startup environment and changing business needs.
• Ability to work in a team and independently.
• Reliable, punctual, organized, and capable in a fast-paced setting.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers with friendly, professional service.
• Represent the Moment brand enthusiastically and authentically.
• Learn customer preferences and recommend products.
• Educate customers about cannabis products, brands and options.
• Assist with Budtender training as assigned by General Manager.
• Help drive sales by engaging customers and promoting products.
• Build relationships and encourage repeat visits.
• Process purchases accurately using the POS system.
• Stay informed about products, new arrivals, and promotions.
• Follow Maryland cannabis regulations and company policies.
• Assist with stocking, merchandising, inventory counts, cleaning and operations.
• Assist with opening/closing procedures.
• Relay product feedback and market trends to management.
• Deliver positive customer experiences reflecting the Moment brand.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
