Job summary

Five Guys is seeking a Shift Leader in Alexandria, VA to lead each shift, step in to run operations, and set the tone for the team. You’ll work side-by-side with crew, deliver fast service, and ensure every guest leaves impressed.

You’ll coach, train new teammates, manage breaks and closing tasks, and keep the kitchen safe and up to brand standards while growing into higher leadership roles.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of restaurant, retail, or hospitality experience (leadership preferred).
• Team-first mindset with strong communication skills.
• Leads by doing—not just directing.
• Ability to stay cool and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic math and comfort using POS systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead the shift and run operations when management isn’t on site.
• Jump into every position—cashier, grill, prep, fries, dining room—no task is too small.
• Deliver fast, accurate service and create a great guest experience every time.
• Coach, support, and motivate crew members to perform at their best.
• Help train new team members and build a strong, positive culture.
• Keep the restaurant clean, safe, and up to brand standards.
