Job summary

Five Guys in Mechanicsville, VA is seeking a Shift Leader to lead by example, work closely with the team, and uphold brand standards. You’ll step in for management when off-site, coach crew, and help train new team members.

The role starts at $18.00/hour plus tips and bonus, with opportunities to grow into higher leadership. As you rotate through cashier, grill, prep, fries, and dining room, you’ll keep service fast and accurate, maintain a clean, safe kitchen, and ensure a great guest

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of restaurant, retail, or hospitality experience (leadership preferred).
• Strong communications skills.
• Team player who leads by doing.
• Ability to stay calm and make quick decisions under pressure.
• Basic math and comfort using POS systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead the shift and step in to run operations when management isn’t on site.
• Jump into every position—cashier, grill, prep, fries, dining room.
• Deliver fast, accurate service and ensure a great guest experience.
• Coach, support, and motivate crew members to perform at their best.
• Help train new team members and build a positive culture.
• Keep the restaurant clean, safe, and up to brand standards.
