Job summary

Role Description

The Shift Lead is a full-time, on-site position based at Empire Pizza & Bar in Charlotte, NC. This role oversees day-to-day shift operations, including coordinating front-of-house staff, monitoring service quality, and ensuring a clean and safe environment. The Shift Lead supports opening and closing procedures, manages cash handling, assists with order accuracy, and helps resolve guest concerns in a professional, timely manner. This position also helps train team members, communicates staffing and inventory needs to management, and promotes a positive, collaborative work culture throughout each shift.

Qualifications

• Experience in restaurant or bar operations, including supervising shifts, coordinating staff, and supporting front-of-house service.
• Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to address guest concerns and maintain a welcoming, inclusive environment.
• Basic cash handling and POS system skills, with attention to accuracy and adherence to company procedures.
• Ability to lead by example, coach team members, and collaborate with kitchen and bar staff to ensure smooth operations.
• Reliability in working full-time, on-site shifts in Charlotte, NC, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Capacity to stand for extended periods, move quickly in a fast-paced environment, and follow food safety and cleanliness standards.
• Previous experience as a shift lead, supervisor, or similar role in hospitality is preferred but not required.
• High school diploma or equivalent is beneficial; a commitment to learning and growth within the company is highly valued.
