Job summary

Abbott Park, IL is seeking a Group Leader within the GES Global Engineering Services division to oversee centralized utilities across multiple facilities. You will direct daily operations, assign maintenance tasks to Sr.

Utilities Operators, and support plant readiness and efficiency. The role requires at least two years in boiler/chiller operation, a basic understanding of mechanical systems, and strong troubleshooting skills.

Qualifications

Qualified Shift Group Leader per LCU Course GESDV-APU-00012.
High School Diploma or GED.
At least two years’ experience with boiler or chiller operation.
Basic understanding of mechanical systems incl. pumps, valves, piping.
Ability to troubleshoot and return equipment to proper operation.
Capable of working with minimal supervision and with others.

Responsibilities

Oversee centralized utilities for Abbott Park, Abbott Park East, K-Complex, and AP88 to support manufacturing, R&D, and admin.
Direct and guide day-to-day operations and maintenance tasks.
Distribute maintenance to Sr. Utilities Operators.
Assist Plant Manager in setting departmental expectations, processes, and policies.
Perform plant walkdowns for readiness and cleanliness.
Identify areas for cost control and initiate improvements.
Ensure safety and quality policies are followed.
Coordinate with technicians and service providers; manage afterhours emergencies.
