Job summary

Abbott Laboratories in Abbott Park, IL, is seeking a 2nd shift Group Leader to oversee centralized utilities for 50+ buildings, ensuring plant reliability and cost efficiency.

You will direct and coordinate maintenance activities, mentor Sr. Utilities Operators, and ensure safety, GMPs, and quality checks while maintaining strong communication with technicians and other service providers.

Qualifications

• Qualified Shift Group Leader as per LCU Course # GESDV-APU-00012.
• Minimum of two years' experience with boiler or chiller operation.
• Basic understanding of mechanical systems and equipment, including pumps, valves, piping, etc.
• Ability to troubleshoot and determine the cause of improper machine operation, and make necessary adjustments and repairs to return to proper operation.
• Ability to perform with minimal supervision and work well with others.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and provide centralized utilities to Abbott Park, Abbott Park East, K-Complex, and AP88.
• Direct and provide guidance on day-to-day operations, maintenance tasks and emergencies.
• Ensure safety policies and GMPs are followed, and supervise Sr. Utilities Operators.
