Job summary

Abbott Park, IL-based facilities technician role within GES Global Engineering Services. This full-time position supports operation, maintenance, and repair of plant utility systems to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient performance.

You'll perform inspections, troubleshoot issues, and service boilers, chillers, HVAC, pumps, and water systems; respond to alarms and implement corrective actions. On nights, 12-hour shifts, 4 on 4 off, 6pm to 6:30am.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required with basic maintenance knowledge.
Experience in utilities, industrial maintenance, or facilities operations preferred.
Ability to read manuals, schematics, and equipment drawings.

Responsibilities

Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and corrective repairs on plant utility equipment.
Troubleshoot and resolve utility equipment issues to maintain safe, reliable operation.
Execute maintenance on mechanical, pneumatic, hydronic, and rotating equipment.
Ensure operation of steam, chilled water, potable water, and compressed air systems.
Respond to alarms and abnormal conditions; diagnose failures and implement corrective actions.
Repair or replace valves, pumps, motors, sensors, and piping as needed.
Lay out, fabricate, install, and maintain piping for various utility processes.
