Job summary

Steel Dynamics is seeking a Day Shift Electrical Technician who will progress to our next shift electrical position to assist in operation and maintenance of the plant. Responsibilities include supporting preventative and predictive maintenance and working with a team to troubleshoot issues as they arise.

The ideal candidate has strong communication skills, is well organized, and demonstrates self-direction, motivation, and leadership abilities in a mechanical/electrical environment.

Assist in the operation and maintenance of the plant. Also includes any other duties deemed necessary throughout the plant.

Qualifications

Required

Knowledge of preventative and predictive maintenance, strong communication and teamwork skills, well organized, effective troubleshooting skills, self-directed and motivated, good leadership abilities, strong mechanical aptitude.

Preferred

Skills and experience with low and high voltage switchgear, motors, variable speed drivers, controls, instruments and PLC’s.

Mechatronics/Electrical technical training certificate or equivalent.
