Hall County Sheriff’s Office is seeking a Public Information Officer to develop and communicate public information and media relations programs in Gainesville, GA. You will promote transparency of sheriff operations and respond to media during crime scenes and critical events.

The role involves interviews, press conferences, and coordinating with agency staff to craft news releases for public interest, while building strong relationships with officials, media, and the public.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Public Relations or related field with two years of public relations or related experience.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.
• Knowledge of public relations principles, practices and techniques.
• Knowledge of journalism theories and English language usage.

Responsibilities

• Develop and communicate public information and media relations programs.
• Promote transparency of Sheriff's Office operations and incidents.
• Respond to crime and disaster scenes to aid media dissemination.
• Conduct on-camera interviews and respond to media questions.
• Publicize Sheriff’s Office programs via news releases, social media, and events.
• Coordinate with Sheriff and staff to develop news releases for public interest.
• Organize public appearances and pre-appearance media announcements.
• Maintain relationships with Hall County officials, media, and the public.
• Develop marketing strategies for regional and national reach.
• Plan and manage strategic communications campaigns and projects.
