Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Public Relations or related field with two years of public relations or related experience.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.
• Knowledge of PR principles, journalism and English grammar.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate activities to promote employee and community relations.
• Respond to crime scenes, disaster scenes and other critical events to assist with media information.
• Conduct on-camera interviews and respond to questions from the media during press events.
• Publicize Sheriff’s Office programs using news releases, social media, and other outlets.
• Coordinate with the Sheriff, Command Staff, and others to develop news releases for events of public interest.
• Organize public appearances for the Sheriff and command officers; handle pre-appearance preparations.
• Establish and maintain effective relationships with Hall County officials, media, employees and the public.
