The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is seeking a seasoned public information professional to perform complex and specialized public relations work at the technical lead level. You will plan, direct, and coordinate activities to maintain a favorable public image and raise awareness of the Sheriff’s Office.

Responsibilities include developing communications plans, managing press materials, coordinating with media, and updating content across intranet and public channels.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in public relations, communications, journalism, media relations, or a closely related field.
• Three years of progressively responsible experience in public relations, communications, journalism, or media.

Responsabilités

• Study objectives, promotional policies, or agency needs to develop PR strategies.
• Develop plans or materials to communicate agency activities to the public.
• Establish relationships with community, media, and public-interest groups.
• Respond to media information requests and provide redacted public records.
• Maintain knowledge of departmental rules and communications.
• Write press releases and other media communications; prepare media kits.
