Qualifications

• Interest in supporting the mission and philosophy of KHS.
• Experience or training in HQHVSN and/or shelter medicine preferred.
• Proficient in venipuncture, in-house laboratory procedures and anesthesia monitoring.
• Ability to triage patients and educate caregivers.
• Lift 50 lbs and work in a fast-paced shelter setting.

Responsibilities

• Surgical duties including anesthetic induction, prep, monitoring and recovery.
• Community clinic duties involving direct client/patient care, diagnostics and treatments.
• Shelter medicine duties including prelim exams and assisting veterinarians with treatment protocols.
• Interact with caregivers, adopters and foster parents, providing history taking and care instructions.
