Job summary

The City of Everett is seeking a part-time Veterinary Technician to support shelter veterinary care under the Veterinary Manager or attending Veterinarian. Qualifications

• An Associate's Degree in Veterinary Technology.
• A Washington Veterinary Technician license.
• A minimum of two (2) years of experience as a licensed Veterinary Technician.
• One (1) year of experience in an animal shelter or high-volume clinic is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist Veterinarian in surgery and restrain animals as needed.
• Prepare examination or treatment rooms with supplies and sterilize equipment.
• Administer medications and vaccines under supervision.
• Maintain and chart medical records on paper and computer.
• Provide guidance and training for shelter staff and volunteers assisting in clinic activities.
• Perform euthanasia and handle animals safely as required.
