Job summary

Animal Humane Society is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our veterinary team and provide skilled nursing care under veterinarians. You will support exams, diagnostics, anesthesia, surgery, dentistry, and client education to help pets receive high-quality care.

You will document patient histories, monitor vital signs, collect samples, manage medical records, and collaborate with the veterinary team to ensure safe, efficient care in a busy shelter setting.

Qualifications

• Current veterinary technician license in good standing or ability to obtain Minnesota licensure prior to employment.
• Knowledge of veterinary medical technology, patient care, and safety practices.
• Ability to perform veterinary technical skills within the scope of practice for a Licensed Veterinary Technician.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled nursing care under veterinarians, supporting exams, diagnostics, anesthesia, surgery, and client education.
• Obtain and document patient histories, vitals, and other medical information; restrain animals as needed.
• Maintain medical records, assist with surgeries, anesthesia, radiology, dentistry, and lab work.
