Job summary

Hope the Mission in North Hills, CA seeks a Learning & Development Specialist (Program Manager) to design, develop, and deliver training across the workforce, including onboarding and ongoing staff development in trauma-informed care, de-escalation, crisis intervention, and safety protocols.

This grant-funded role requires travel up to 50% to program sites; collaborate with shelter managers and external vendors, track training outcomes, and tailor content to shelter operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Behavioral Science, Education, Human Services, or a related field required.
• Minimum 2 years of training experience required.
• Experience in homeless services, social services, or a related field preferred.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and update training programs for frontline staff and management using adult learning principles.
• Create instructional materials including presentations, handouts, and workbooks.
• Develop training content specific to shelter operations including trauma-informed care, de-escalation techniques, homelessness concepts, crisis intervention, emergencies, and safety protocols.
• Liaise with subject matter experts regarding instructional design.
• Deliver live and on-demand training using a range of methods.
