Job summary

Delta-T Group seeks Direct Support Shelter Advocates for a 24/7 shelter program in Brighton, MA to assist homeless families with basic services and safe daily operations.

Shifts available: first 8am-3pm, second 3pm-11pm, third 11pm-8am; duties include rounds, meal prep, crisis intervention, and maintaining shelter safety.

Candidates with experience with at‑risk populations and CPR/First Aid are preferred; compensation is $21/hr with immediate start.

Qualifications

• Experience with homeless individuals and/or families, disabilities or at‑risk populations.
• Ability to work independently and handle crises with good judgment and communication skills.
• Current CPR and First Aid Certifications.

Responsibilities

• Initiate and maintain appropriate social interactions with residents and assist residents as needed.
• Conduct rounds of shelter to maintain safety and security of residents.
• Assist with preparation, serving and cleanup of meals during the shift.
• Intervene if a resident in crisis (medical, mental health, interpersonal).
• Complete assigned tasks of shift.
• Maintain order and cleanliness of the shelter.
• Monitor bedrooms, bathrooms, and dayrooms for safety and security.
• Attend monthly staff meetings and trainings.
• May assist in room cleanups and packing rooms.
