Job summary

Pillars Inc. is seeking a full-time Shelter Case Manager to support clients at the Adult & Family Shelter in Appleton, WI. You will develop individual case plans and guide participants toward housing and income stability in a shelter setting.

The role requires a trauma-informed approach, strong relationship building, and collaboration with schools and community partners. Travel to local sites may be needed and a valid WI driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelors in Human Services related field OR High School Diploma with 5+ years relevant experience.
• Minimum 2 years relevant experience preferred.
• Understanding barriers facing homelessness; experience with domestic violence survivors; mental health and addictions challenges.
• Knowledge of Wisconsin Homeless Management Information System, Clarity.
• Valid Wisconsin driver's license; ability to travel locally with reliable vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Provide case management to individuals and families experiencing homelessness in a shelter setting.
• Establish individual case plans and monitor progress toward housing and income stability.
• Advocate for participants across systems; refer to community resources.
• Maintain records and grant documentation; manage program paperwork.
• Coordinate school enrollment for children and connect to services such as Head Start and McKinney-Vento education services.
• Engage with school districts to enroll children and link to relevant services.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
