Job summary

Mercy House is seeking a Shelter Specialist to provide supportive services and logistical support for the Emergency Shelter Program during assigned shifts, including shelter setup, facility cleanliness, and neighborhood patrols. The role requires crisis intervention and trauma-informed service delivery.

This full-time, non-exempt position pays $21.00 per hour with a shift pattern Wed & Thu 8 a.m.–4 p.m. and Sat & Sun 3:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m.; location is Corona, CA.

This role also requires crisis intervention and trauma-informed service delivery.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Shelter SupportGoal: Ensure a safe and client-focused environment for guests to quickly end their homelessnessAssist in the implementation of shelter activities to ensure quality, guest-focused, and trauma-informed delivery of servicesEncourage and discuss progress toward housing with shelter guestsAssist with shelter setup and maintenanceMaintain cleanliness and safety of the facility, including emptying trash cans and cleaning up spillsAssist with receiving and verifying orders from vendors, completing tally sheetsPost and update signs and service calendarsSet up and monitor audio equipmentAssist in the organization of supplies and facility needsConduct neighborhood patrols to minimize potential impact on the surrounding communityAdministrationGoal: Oversee administrative duties that support program servicesAssist with keeping detailed daily summary sheetsAssist with record keeping and reportingMiscellaneousAssist with guest services and program activities if necessaryComplete ad hoc projects as appointed by SupervisorMercy House is an E-Verify employer.
