Job summary

Volunteers of America Los Angeles (VOALA) is seeking a Monitor to provide security for program premises and safety for clients, visitors, and staff. Driving ability is preferred for transporting participants and supporting field tasks.

This on-site role involves monitoring entrances, screening individuals, patrolling grounds, and maintaining a safe shelter environment. Requirements include the ability to handle emotional stress and interact professionally with participants.

Qualifications

• Must be able to pass background check (fingerprint)
• Ability to work under emotional stress and manage difficult clients
• Clean driving record and valid California driver license (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Guard entrances and exits to shelter, monitor and authorize access.
• Screen bags and persons entering shelter to ensure safety.
• Patrol premises, report safety concerns and maintain security.
