Job summary

The Salvation Army Southern California is seeking a Shelter Programs Lead to support the Bell Shelter’s Low Barrier and Interim Housing initiatives. This role helps management, case managers, and housing navigators, ensuring compliant, trauma-informed service delivery and strong documentation.

You will train staff, maintain records, coordinate funder requirements, and assist in audits while promoting a respectful, empathetic environment for participants and a collaborative team approach.

Qualifications

  • BS/BA degree in Social Work or related field preferred.
  • Three years experience with homelessness, addiction, and mental health needs.
  • CPR/First Aid certificates required prior to hire.
  • TB clearance prior to hire.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate shelter operations and support management.
  • Assist in onboarding, training, and coaching of staff.
  • Maintain participant files, intake docs, and case notes.
  • Monitor HMIS data quality and timely funder reporting.
  • Prepare program reports for funders and audits.
  • Advocate for participants to access benefits and services.
  • Engage in program meetings and community events.
