Job summary

Making Opportunity Count is seeking a Shelter Manager to oversee day-to-day operations of the shelter program in Devens, MA. You will supervise staff, manage client services, and ensure adherence to program standards while collaborating with partners to meet outcomes.

The role emphasizes leadership, program development, and data-driven evaluation, with a focus on safety, quality, and community engagement for diverse populations.

Qualifications

• 5-8 years of experience or comparable combination of education and experience.
• Familiarity with EOHLC Uniform Shelter Rules & Systems.
• Excellent people skills, specifically customer service skills and a capacity for collaboration and interpersonal relationships.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to express technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Knowledge of software programs specifically, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Power Point and Outlook).
• Familiarity with ETO programming.
• Demonstrated ability to work with diverse community and organizational groups.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operations of the shelter program.
• Cultivate relationships with partner agencies and community resources; participate in community meetings, events and activities as needed.
• Develop and implement strategies that will maximize synergies among program areas.
• Lead a collaborative environment set with clear, outcome-driven expectations with proactive communication.
• Work with staff to achieve key performance indicators across all program areas to ensure consistent, high-quality evaluation and goal setting for all employees.
• Maintain a sense of accountability among team members by driving individual and organization performance standards.
• Engage in both strategic activities as well as taking a hands-on role regarding program execution and administrative issues.
