Job summary

The Salvation Army Tacoma Corps is seeking a Program Aide to support the Jarvie Memorial Family Lodge shelter. You will assist residents, help with intake, and ensure safety and cleanliness on shift, reporting to the JMFL Program Manager.

Role includes meal service under the Kitchen Manager and crisis response where needed. Full-time, non-exempt position with 40 hours per week, Friday to Tuesday schedule, located at 1521 6th Ave, Tacoma, WA.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience working with vulnerable populations preferred.
• Ability to be detail-oriented and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Ability to quickly learn and apply new information and skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance and support to residents while promoting a safe communal living environment.
• Conduct resident intake and orientation, when delegated or when a Case Manager is unavailable, in accordance with program procedures.
• Provide supportive care to residents experiencing personal crisis.
• Under the guidance of the JMFL Kitchen Manager, prepare and serve healthy meals for residents as assigned.
• Respond to emergency situations that may arise, making independent decisions within policy guidelines as necessary.
