Job summary

The Salvation Army Tacoma Corps is seeking a JMFL Kitchen Coordinator to oversee daily food service at Jarvie Memorial Family Lodge. You will plan menus, supervise meal preparation, and ensure adherence to health, safety, and nutrition standards.

You will collaborate with the JMFL Program Manager and other staff to support residents, manage inventory, and maintain meal records while guiding a small team to provide nutritious meals seven days a week.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years in commercial/institutional food service with menu planning and inventory control.
• Experience handling donated food and minimizing waste preferred.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• Empathy toward participants in crisis with trauma-informed care approach.
• Able to pass TSA background check and obtain Washington Food Worker Card.

Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare nutritious, balanced meals for residents seven days a week.
• Develop weekly menus and maintain meal service records.
• Manage kitchen cleanliness, equipment, and storage areas in compliance with health standards.
• Coordinate with fiscal staff to order supplies and manage inventory.
• Supervise Program Aides and ensure safe, efficient meal service.
