Job summary

Compass Connections seeks compassionate and dependable staff to support emergency shelter and group home placement for children in El Paso, TX. You will help ensure safety, supervise activities, and assist with daily operations in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include coordinating staff, maintaining records, and following safety protocols while supporting family reunification efforts. A high school diploma is required with CPR/First Aid preferred; bilingual English/Spanish helpful.

Responsibilities

• Meet federal/state regulatory guidelines for the position.
• Report incidents and daily activities to Shelter Manager.
• Assist with shift schedules and staff assignments for safety.
• Monitor and delegate daily facility operations tasks.
• Know procedures for dispensing non-prescription medications when medical staff aren’t on duty.
• Promote positive interactions among children and encourage daily responsibility.
• Plan and supervise activities per daily schedule.
• Identify maintenance needs and report them.
• Participate in meetings, training, and team decisions.
• Assist with laundry and cleaning of living areas.
• Maintain accurate records of clothing and personal items.
• Coordinate air/ground transportation for the service population.
• Work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Follow safety protocols during emergencies.
