Job summary

Compass Connections is hiring at our Cameron facility in Los Fresnos, TX for compassionate, dependable staff. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, bilingual English/Spanish fluency, and 1+ year of related experience (2+ preferred).

Qualifications

• Fluency in English and Spanish required.
• Minimum 1 year related experience preferred 2+ years.
• Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Meet federal and state regulatory guidelines applicable to the position.
• Report serious incidents and daily activities to Shelter Manager.
• Assist with shift schedules and staff assignments to ensure safety.
• Monitor and delegate daily facility operations tasks.
• Know procedures for non-prescription medication dispensing when medical staff are off duty.
• Supervise interactions of children to promote positive behavior.
• Plan and supervise activities per daily schedule.
• Identify and report maintenance needs to Shelter Manager.
• Participate in meetings, in-service training, and team decisions.
• Assist in household laundry and cleaning of bedrooms/living areas.
• Maintain records of clothing and personal items accurately.
• Coordinate scheduling of air and ground transportation when needed.
• Work evenings, weekends, and holidays as requested.
• Follow Compass Connections safety protocols during emergencies.
• Maintain professional and ethical standards per employee handbook.
