Job summary

Agate Housing is seeking an Assistant Shelter Program Manager to lead day-to-day operations across our shelter sites. You will supervise staff, coordinate coverage, and ensure guests' basic needs are met in a safe, welcoming environment.

This role supports Housing First, Harm Reduction, and trauma-informed care, operates on a 24/7 rotating schedule, and requires strong communication and crisis-de-escalation skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years' experience in homeless services.
• At least 1 year of supervisory experience, including hiring and performance management.
• Experience with HMIS and related data systems.
• Valid driver’s license and auto insurance.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings/weekends.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day leadership and operational oversight across shelter sites.
• Supervise staff, coordinate scheduling, and ensure coverage.
• Support guests experiencing crises and practice de-escalation.
• Collaborate with Shelter Program Managers to anticipate staffing needs.
• Ensure safety, hospitality, and dignity across all shelters.
