Job summary

SAFE Alliance serves survivors of abuse and operates multiple shelters in the Austin area. The Community Shelter Basic Needs and Food Services Coordinator (Grove Campus) supports operations across locations by transporting supplies, coordinating with residents and staff, supervising volunteers, and aiding warehouse and in-kind giving efforts.

The role is full-time, non-exempt, based at Grove Blvd. Campus in East Austin, with some travel between campuses and no remote work.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Public Health, Human Services, Nonprofit Management, or related field preferred.
• Preference given to experience in a residential, crisis, and/or homeless or domestic violence shelter program.
• Preference given to experience working with food donations and distribution.
• Possession of current Food Handler Certification preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and database systems for data entry, tracking, and reporting.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in outdoor climate.
• Ability to drive and have a valid Texas driver’s license with required driving history.
