Job summary

The Salvation Army Midland Division Shelter in Springfield, Missouri is seeking a part-time Shelter Monitor, 24 hours per week, to maintain Harbor House security and assist homeless clients. Starting pay is $15.00 per hour.

Responsibilities include monitoring clients, enforcing policies, conducting intake, assigning beds, logging incidents, and tracking attendance. A high school diploma and CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days) are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; one year of experience in a social service agency or two years of experience without a diploma.
• Higher education in psychology, social work, criminal justice, or related field is a plus.
• Must possess Infant/Child/Adult CPR/First Aid certification or be able to acquire certification within the first ninety (90) day probationary period.
• Must be a team player, a self-starter, and perform well with minimum supervision.
• Effective communication skills are essential, as well as an ability to work with diverse cultures.
• Computer skills are desirable.
