The SF SPCA is seeking a Shelter Medicine Clinical Assistant to support doctors, foster coordinators, and staff in managing medical records and data entry for shelter patients. The role involves organizing hard copy records, entering data into digital systems, and assisting with clinical and foster department tasks.

Responsibilities include reviewing records, preparing intake and vaccination paperwork, scheduling medications and exams, and documenting treatments.

Qualifikationen

• Minimum of one year experience in a veterinary clinic.
• Minimum of one year in an administrative role.
• Experience with veterinary terminology and medical records.
• Strong planning, critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Aufgaben

• Read and review patients records from source shelters.
• Enter all patient data, vaccines, treatments, and follow-up care into the medical record system.
• Prepare intake paperwork and schedule post-operative medications.
• Coordinate with foster parents and departments to schedule medical exams and surgeries.
• Write prescriptions and ensure accuracy with veterinary guidelines.
• Assist during surgeries and administer medications as directed.
