Job summary

Midwestern University is inviting applications for a faculty position in shelter medicine at its Glendale, Arizona campus. The appointment can be tenure-track or clinical-track and is a full-time role.

The successful candidate will provide clinical instruction to students on shelter medicine rotations and rotating interns, help develop and implement a comprehensive shelter medicine program, participate in mobile spay/neuter and TNR events, and instruct students in didactic courses and clinical

Qualifications

• Significant shelter or community medicine experience, including the ability to perform high-volume/high-quality spay/neuter surgery.
• Excellent clinical and communication skills.
• Commitment to meeting the needs of students and student-centered learning.
• Collaborative mindset to foster a team-based teaching and service approach.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical instruction to students on shelter medicine rotations and rotating interns.
• Develop and implement a comprehensive shelter medicine program.
• Participate in mobile spay/neuter and TNR events.
• Provide instruction in didactic courses and clinical skills laboratories within the DVM curriculum.
