Job summary

Father Bill’s & MainSpring in Quincy, MA seeks a Food Service Utility Worker to support daily kitchen operations across our shelters. This role supports the Food Service Worker and Food Service Manager in meal prep, service, and sanitation.

You will assist with dishwashing, meal setup, donations intake, and cleaning, with hours Friday through Tuesday 10:30am–6:30pm (40 hours). Work closely with volunteers and staff to maintain food safety and guest services.

Qualifications

• Experience in a kitchen or food service environment preferred.
• Ability to work with volunteers and shelter guests.
• Knowledge of sanitation and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily meal service set-up, serving, breakdown, and clean-up.
• Assist volunteers with basic food preparation and sanitation.
• Wash dishes and kitchen equipment per sanitation standards.
• Receive and store food deliveries and donations.
• Monitor food temperatures and safety practices.
