Job summary

Father Bill’s & MainSpring is hiring a Food Service Utility Worker to support daily meal operations in our Brockton and Quincy shelters. The role involves dishwashing, kitchen cleanup, meal setup, and assisting cooks with prep and service in a fast-paced kitchen environment that serves residents and volunteers.

The position requires flexibility to work Friday through Tuesday (10:30am – 6:30pm), with a focus on food safety, sanitation, and teamwork in a community-based setting.

Qualifications

• Experience working in large-scale kitchens is preferred.
• Ability to assist cooks and follow kitchen procedures.
• Comfort working in a shelter kitchen environment and with volunteers.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily meal service, including setup, serving, breakdown and cleanup.
• Assist volunteers with basic food preparation, cleaning, and sanitation.
• Wash dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and kitchen equipment per sanitation standards.
• Receive, label, rotate, and store food deliveries and donations.
• Monitor food temperatures and storage practices to support food safety.
