Job summary

Shelter House is seeking a Cook (Full-time) to support the Kennedy Emergency Shelter kitchen. You will prepare and serve meals for residents, maintain inventory, and ensure sanitary kitchen operations in alignment with health guidelines.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and at least 1 year of commercial kitchen experience. Regular morning shifts Tuesday through Saturday and reporting to the Kitchen Manager are part of this position.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 1+ years of experience cooking in a commercial kitchen.
• Ability to operate commercial kitchen equipment.
• Willingness to work mornings, evenings and weekends when needed.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve nutritious meals for shelter residents.
• Stock and rotate inventory; assist with deliveries.
• Maintain sanitary kitchen conditions and follow health regulations.
• Assist kitchen volunteers and staff as directed.
• Provide friendly, respectful service to residents.
