Services for the UnderServed in New York City seeks a Cook for our Family Shelters to develop nutritious daily menus and oversee meal preparation. The Cook will ensure meals meet dietary needs, including low-fat and vegetarian options, while managing ordering and inventory. Evening and weekend hours may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• At least two years of experience in food service for an institution.
• NY State Food Handlers Certificate required; additional nutritional training certificates may be required.

Responsabilités

• Develop and monitor nutritious daily menus and meal preparation.
• Prepare low-fat, salt-free, vegetarian and special-diet meals to meet residents' needs.
• Manage food and equipment ordering and inventory.
• Supervise kitchen area, including cleanliness and equipment maintenance.
