Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a Regular Full-Time Janitor/Custodian to support the King County Shelters in Seattle, WA. The role focuses on all phases of building cleaning to maintain a safe, sanitary environment for residents, staff, and visitors, including restrooms, hallways, and common areas.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of janitorial experience; shelter or healthcare setting experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform all phases of building cleaning to create and maintain a safe environment for residents, staff, and others.
• Clean and maintain restrooms, corridors, and common areas.
• Maintain sanitation chemicals and safety protocols.
• Coordinate maintenance requests and basic repairs with supervisors.
• Set up space for programs or events; manage inventory of janitorial supplies.
• Inspect facilities and coordinate repairs as needed.
• Operate and clean vehicles per safety protocols.
• Respond to emergencies following policy guidelines.
