Job summary

CAMBA’s Kings Inn Family Shelter in Queens is seeking a Vice President (Shelter Director) to oversee operations and staff across the shelter program. You will ensure program compliance, guide quality assurance, supervise teams, and coordinate reporting to CAMBA and funders.

The role requires strong leadership, stakeholder engagement, and crisis-prevention capabilities, with on-site responsibilities. The position emphasizes regulatory compliance, data-driven improvements, and staff development,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master’s degree preferred with relevant licenses.
• Three years of supervisory experience in a similar role.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all program operations and manage direct reporting program staff and their subordinates.
• Develop and implement Quality Assurance measures to ensure quality service delivery to clients.
• Ensure that all client files and program files are kept in compliance with CAMBA's and funder's standards.
• Direct, coordinate, supervise and document programmatic activities facilitated by direct reporting staff.
• Prepare, review and ensure the accuracy and timeliness of contract reports and statistical information for CAMBA management and funder use.
• Analyze program and demographic data to make programmatic improvements.
• Oversee onsite and organize offsite training opportunities for professional development of staff.
• Ensure that the site meets all regulatory compliance (health, DHS, OTDA, Callahan, RSRI, safety, and fire).
• Ensure housing goals, targets, and performance outcomes are met monthly/quarterly/annual.
• Liaise with community leaders and groups to build connections and troubleshoot issues.
