Job summary

CAMBA seeks a Vice President (Shelter Director) to lead Kings Inn Family Shelter operations in Queens, NY. The role reports to the Executive Vice-President and requires overseeing staff, ensuring policy compliance, and coordinating program performance.

The VP will guide crisis prevention and quality assurance, while managing housing goals and service delivery standards. The position offers full-time work at 35 hours weekly with competitive compensation and a broad benefits package including

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master’s degree preferred; Licensure for Social Work/Mental Health Counseling may be required for some roles.
• Three years of supervisory experience in a similar role, preferably in a mid-sized organization.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all program operations and supervise direct reporting staff.
• Ensure compliance with CAMBA and funders’ policies and rules.
• Develop and implement quality assurance for service delivery.
• Maintain accurate client and program files per standards.
• Coordinate hiring/firing of shelter staff in consultation with HR.
• Prepare performance appraisals and staff development plans.
• Liaise with community leaders to build connections and troubleshoot issues.
