Job summary

BRC operates a residential program in New York City serving individuals experiencing homelessness. This full-time role focuses on maintaining a safe environment, conducting rounds, and engaging clients with empathy while handling front-door screening and meticulous documentation.

The position requires a High School diploma or GED, CPR and NYC Fire Safety certifications (or willingness to obtain), and experience with homelessness.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• CPR certification required or ability to obtain.
• NYC Fire Safety Guard certification required or willingness to obtain.
• NYC Fire Safety Coordinator certification preferred; willingness to acquire.
• Security guard license preferred; willingness to acquire.
• Food Handler certification preferred; willingness to acquire.
• TB clearance when required.
• Experience with individuals experiencing homelessness; good written and verbal communication; basic computer literacy.

Responsibilities

• Monitor rounds and maintain a safe, empathetic environment.
• Screen residents and visitors at front door; document in logbooks and incident reports.
• Manage supplies, conduct fire safety drills and logs, provide first aid/CPR/NARCAN when needed.
• Assist with inspections and audits; escort clients and serve meals.
• Maintain orderly, clean facility; perform related duties; mandatory overtime.
