The New Hanover County Sheriff's Office is seeking a Shelter Attendant/Veterinary Assistant responsible for providing care for shelter animals, maintaining the County animal shelter, and assisting with pre- and post-operative surgical procedures.
The New Hanover County Sheriff's Office is the principal law enforcement agency serving over 200,000 residents within 185 square miles. Responsibilities include patrolling, crime investigation, arrest, custody, courtroom security, civil process, prisoner transport, and more.

Hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with rotating shifts on weekends and holidays. Emergency work reporting may be required.
Salary Range: $34,008 - $45,911, based on qualifications, internal equity, budget, and market considerations.
High school diploma/GED and one year of veterinary assistant experience or equivalent training and experience.
