Job summary

PCC Structurals in Portland, Oregon, is seeking a production operator to support shell manufacturing for casting operations. The role covers grinding, dewaxing, inspection, insulation, and related housekeeping tasks on site.

The position requires adherence to safety rules, ability to read specifications, perform basic math, and maintain accurate records. Training includes forklift and radiation safety as part of PCC’s certification programs.

Qualifications

• Experience in the investing area preferred.
• An equivalent combination of classroom training and work experience.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Ability to read, follow and interpret specification on Technique Cards, routers, and other special instructions.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Physical ability to perform the essential job functions.

Responsibilities

• Grind mold edges, vents, thermal-coupling tubes, pins and open cups to allow removal of wax per specifications.
• Verify load for size and weight requirements; secure loads for transport and autoclave pressurization.
• Inspect shells for cracks and defects; make repairs with cement, wax, slurry or mesh as needed.
• Attach insulating material to shells; inspect for defects and verify lot integrity.
• Maintain and complete all logs and records; ensure shell ID matches paperwork.
