Job summary

The University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) seeks a skilled Crafts and Trades Supervisor to lead Sheetmetal Workers and Facilities staff across campus and affiliated sites. You will coordinate daily work, review schedules with Project Managers, and ensure safety, quality, and timely delivery of tenant improvement and maintenance projects.

You will write contracts (JOCs, EDPA, PSA), develop estimates, resolve project issues, and mentor shop personnel.

Qualifications

• Journeyman Sheetmetal with minimum 3 years experience.
• Knowledge of sheetmetal trade and codes to direct work.
• Ability to supervise and conduct performance evaluations within a union workforce.
• Experience inspecting and troubleshooting sheetmetal products and ADA/Fire/Life/Safety codes.
• Ability to read blueprints and determine gauge and type of metal.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Lead and Journey-level Sheetmetal Workers and Facilities staff.
• Coordinate schedules, assign work and manage project scope across campus and affiliated sites.
• Write contracts (JOCs, EDPA, PSA) and conduct job site assessments.
• Develop and review estimates; coordinate outages and ensure proper close/charge.
• Provide quality customer service and keep clients informed of progress.
