Job summary

University of California - Los Angeles (UCLA) seeks a skilled supervisor for the Mason, Paint, Roofing, and Sign Shops to oversee tenant improvements, deferred maintenance, and multi-trade projects on campus and off-campus sites.

You will hire, coach, and evaluate staff; review daily schedules; write EDPA/PSA contracts; assess sites; develop estimates and budgets; and coordinate outages with Project Managers to ensure timely project closure.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Masonry and Roofing trades and codes to direct work and evaluate progress.
• Ability to read project specs, blueprints, and technical manuals.
• Experience coordinating multiple trades and managing budgets and schedules.
• Experience conducting performance evaluations and HR actions.
• Strong communication across management and staff from diverse backgrounds.
• Familiarity with computerized facilities maintenance software (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Supervise Mason and Roofing Shops including Lead Masons, Masons, Roofers, Facilities Mechanics, and Workers.
• Review and coordinate daily schedules; interface with client.
• Write contracts (EDPA, PSA) and conduct site assessments and estimates.
• Manage hiring, discipline, evaluation, and termination of staff.
• Coordinate outages and ensure projects are closed and charged properly.
• Backup to the Supervisor, Paint and Sign Shops as needed.
