Job summary

Environmental Air Systems in Raleigh, NC, is seeking an HVAC installer to join a crew. You will understand all aspects of HVAC installation, lay out ductwork, and ensure smooth workflow with 4-5 person groups.

The role requires adherence to safety policies and the ability to spot and correct unsafe conditions. Candidate should have high school education and at least five years of sheet metal experience, with skills in rigging signals, welding fabrication, and reading both duct and architectural

Qualifications

• Understanding of HVAC installation responsibilities is required.
• Ability to work in groups of 4-5 with multiple areas daily.
• Capability to lay out ductwork for installation and anticipate workflow.
• Good working attitude and safety policy adherence.
• Ability to spot unsafe situations and correct them promptly.
• Sketch fittings for duct connections and knowledge of rigging signals.
• Knowledge of welding and fabrication for supports.
• Understanding air flow terms: supply, return, exhaust.
• Ability to perform quality control on HVAC devices per manufacturers’ instructions.
• Ability to coordinate with other trades professionally.
• Ability to read ductwork and architectural drawings for locations.

• Employee must have a good working attitude.


• Needs to adhere to all EAS safety policies and regulations.


• Must be capable of spotting unsafe situations and correcting them as needed.


• Has to be able to sketch fitting for duct connections. Have knowledge of signals for rigging, and setting HVAC equipment with cranes, boom trucks, lulls, and forklifts.


• Have knowledge of Welding and fabrication of supports for equipment.


• Needs to know Air flow of systems as far as—Supply; Return; Exhaust.


• Needs to be able to do Quality Control to make sure that all HVAC inline Mechanical Devices are installed according to Manufactures Instructions.


• Needs to be able to work with other Trades in a Professional manner to correct any conflicts that may arise.


• Capable of reading not only duct work drawings, but Architectural drawings to locate rooms, ceiling elevations, columns.

EDUCATION

• Minimum of a high school education or equivalent.


• This Position requires a minimum of five (5) years of Sheet Metal experience.

JOB REQUIREMENTS/SPECIAL SKILLS

• Requires working in conditions of varying heat and cold and where noise levels are at or above 90 decibels.


• Courses in construction safety are a requirement.


• Be able to continue job if Superintendent is not available.


• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
