Job summary

Environmental Air Systems, LLC is seeking an experienced HVAC ductwork specialist for site installation in the Carolinas. The role requires laying out duct paths, coordinating 4–5 person crews, and ensuring compliance with safety standards and drawings.

You will read duct and architectural drawings to locate rooms and ensure proper elevations. The candidate should have at least five years of sheet metal experience and a high school education or equivalent.

Qualifications

  • Understand all aspects of HVAC installation.
  • Dependable and able to work in groups of 4-5.
  • Able to lay-out duct and anticipate workflow to keep work moving.
  • Adhere to EAS safety policies and regulations.
  • Capable of spotting unsafe situations and correcting them.
  • Able to sketch fittings for duct connections.
  • Knowledge of rigging signals for setting HVAC equipment with cranes, boom trucks, lifts and forklifts.
  • Knowledge of welding and fabrication of supports for equipment.
  • Understand air flow (Supply; Return; Exhaust).
  • Perform quality control to ensure HVAC devices are installed per manufacturers’ instructions.
  • Work with other trades in a professional manner to resolve conflicts.
  • Read duct drawings and architectural drawings to locate rooms and elevations.

Job description

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Able to understand all aspects of HVAC installation.
  • Be dependable and able to work different areas at a time with 4-5 people in each group.
  • To be able to lay-out duct for installation and look ahead to keep work going smoothly.
  • Employee must have a good working attitude.
  • Needs to adhere to all EAS safety policies and regulations.
  • Must be capable of spotting unsafe situations and correcting them as needed.
  • Has to be able to sketch fitting for duct connections.
  • Have knowledge of signals for rigging, and setting HVAC equipment with cranes, boom trucks, lulls, and forklifts.
  • Have knowledge of Welding and fabrication of supports for equipment.
  • Needs to know Air flow of systems as far as—Supply; Return; Exhaust.
  • Needs to be able to do Quality Control to make sure that all HVAC inline Mechanical Devices are installed according to Manufactures Instructions.
  • Needs to be able to work with other Trades in a Professional manner to correct any conflicts that may arise.
  • Capable of reading not only duct work drawings, but Architectural drawings to locate rooms, ceiling elevations, columns.
EDUCATION:
  • Minimum of a high school education or equivalent.
  • This Position requires a minimum of five (5) years of Sheet Metal experience.
JOB REQUIREMENTS/SPECIAL SKILLS:
  • Requires working in conditions of varying heat and cold and where noise levels are at or above 90 decibels.
  • Courses in construction safety are a requirement.
  • Be able to continue job if Superintendent is not available.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
