Job summary

Ideal candidates will have experience with various duct types, fittings, and basic tool handling. A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are preferred for this on-site position.

Qualifications

• Read basic HVAC plans and shop drawings.
• Lay out and install rectangular, round, spiral, and flex duct.
• Install fittings, dampers, access doors, grilles, registers, and diffusers.
• Measure, cut, modify, and assemble sheet metal.
• Seal ductwork with mastic, tape, and sealant.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret HVAC plans on site.
• Lay out duct runs and install ducts and fittings.
• Secure hangers and supports for installed ducts.
• Use hand and power tools safely to complete tasks.

Sheet Metal Installer Employment RequirementsKnowledge and Skills

• Read basic HVAC plans and shop drawings
• Lay out and install rectangular, round, spiral, and flex duct
• Install fittings, dampers, access doors, grilles, registers, and diffusers
• Measure, cut, modify, and assemble sheet metal
• Seal ductwork with approved mastic, tape, and sealant
• Install duct hangers and supports correctly
• Use hand tools, drills, saws, snips, and power tools safely
• Understand basic duct sizes, airflow direction, and system layout
• Work from ladders, scaffolds, and lifts
• Follow OSHA and jobsite safety requirements
• Coordinate with supervisors and other trades
• Perform quality work with minimal supervision
• Keep the work area clean and organized
