Job summary

HTI in Newport News is seeking a trainer- develop­er to plan, coordinate, and deliver in-house product training for field support personnel and customers in naval shipbuilding. You will obtain information, prepare materials, develop content, and set methodologies to ensure effective training programs.

You will conduct sessions, evaluate effectiveness, and continuously revise lesson plans to reflect new requirements and technical updates, collaborating with trainers and production teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 3 years exempt experience; Master's degree with 1 year exempt experience.
• Equivalents: NNS Apprentice School graduate; high school + 5 years manufacturing, shipbuilding, trades or military experience.
• Graduation from Navy Nuclear Power School.

Responsibilities

• Plans, develops, and coordinates in-house product training programs for field support personnel and customers.
• Obtains information needed to prepare in-house training programs; prepares training materials; develops course content; determines methodology; coordinates development of training aids.
• Conducts training sessions and develops criteria for evaluating effectiveness of training activities.
• May utilize trainers with technical expertise.
• Continuously revises lesson plans to meet new training requirements and to keep technical information up to date.
