Job summary

Newport News Shipbuilding, a division of HII, is seeking an experienced Training Program Developer to plan, create, and coordinate in-house training for field personnel and customers.

You will prepare course content, determine delivery methods, and develop training aids. The role includes conducting sessions, evaluating effectiveness, and updating lessons to reflect evolving technical information. On-site, full-time position in Newport News, VA.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's degree plus 3 years exempt experience, or a Master's with 1 year exempt experience.
• Equivalent qualifications include: NNS Apprentice School graduate; Navy Nuclear Power School graduate.
• Alternative path: high school with 5 years combined relevant experience in manufacturing or shipbuilding.

Responsibilities

• Plans, develops, and coordinates in-house training programs for field support personnel and customers.
• Produces training materials and course content; determines methodology for delivery.
• Conducts training sessions and evaluates training effectiveness.
• Updates lesson plans to meet new requirements and keeps technical information current.

Practical Welding Experience

Education

Bachelor's degree + 3 years exempt experience

Master's degree + 1 year exempt experience

NNS Apprentice School graduate

High school + 5 years combined manufacturing, shipbuilding, trades, military experience

Navy Nuclear Power School graduate
