Job summary

Altus Technology Solutions is seeking a Sheet Metal Technician with mechanical assembly expertise in Webster Outlying Field, MD. The role requires 3–5+ years in mechanical assembly and proficiency with hand and power tools, reading drawings, and attention to detail.

You will assemble mechanical components, inspect outputs, maintain records, and follow safety protocols, with opportunities for growth and impact on NAWCAD-related projects.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3-5+ years of mechanical assembly experience.
• Expertise in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings and schematics.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools.
• Strong attention to detail and quality.
• Basic math and measurement skills.

Responsibilities

• Assemble mechanical parts, components, and systems using hand tools, power tools, and fixtures.
• Interpret and follow blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and directions from senior fabricators.
• Perform fitting, alignment, and installation of parts/hardware to ensure proper form, fit, and function.
• Inspect parts and assemblies for defects or deviations from specifications.
• Report non-conformities to department lead.
• Maintain records of materials used and time spent on tasks.
• Read and interpret drawings to properly complete material request documents to inventory control.
• Follow safety protocols and wear PPE; keep area clean, maintenance of tools.
• Communicate effectively with team members, leads, and supervisors.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and meetings.
