Job summary

EPTA GROUP in Columbus, GA is seeking a Sheet Metal Supervisor for 1st shift to oversee daily sheet metal operations, coordinate resources, and ensure on-time delivery.

Lead a team, assign tasks, monitor KPIs, and enforce safety and quality standards while managing schedules and documentation. Collaborate with engineering and other departments to meet customer needs, drive continuous improvements, and support training and development.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in a high-accountability supervisory role or equivalent military/law enforcement leadership.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering/manufacturing management or related technical discipline with at least 1 year supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate day-to-day operations within the unit to meet deadlines.
• Allocate resources including personnel, equipment, and materials.
• Ensure resources are used efficiently within budget constraints.
• Facilitate communication within the team and with other departments.
• Organize and manage schedules, reports, and meeting minutes.
• Support training and development of unit staff.
• Coordinate training sessions and learning opportunities.
• Collaborate with other units to meet customer needs.
• Assist in coordinating and executing projects within the unit.
• Collect and analyze data related to operations and KPIs.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings.

Job Purpose

Overseeing and coordinating the activities and resources within a specific unit or department within an organization.

Experience

• Prior experience in operations management or related roles is beneficial; experience in administrative roles where organizational and coordination skills are utilized is valuable
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a high-accountability supervisory role, military leadership, or law enforcement; OR a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing management, or a related technical discipline with at least 1 year of hands‑on industrial or supervisory experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate day‑to‑day operations within the unit, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and deadlines are met
• Allocate resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to support operational activities and projects
• Ensure resources are utilized effectively and in alignment with organizational goals and budget constraints
• Facilitate communication and collaboration among team members within the unit, as well as with other departments or external stakeholders
• Organize and manage documentation such as schedules, reports, meeting minutes, and other relevant materials
• Support the training and development of unit staff by providing guidance, resources, and assistance as needed
• Coordinate training sessions, workshops, and other learning opportunities to enhance skills and competencies within the unit
• Collaborate with other units or departments to meet customer needs and deliver quality services
• Assist in the coordination and execution of projects or initiatives within the unit, working closely with project managers and team members to achieve objectives
• Collect and analyze data related to unit operations, performance metrics, and key performance indicators (KPIs)
• Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost savings, or efficiency gains within the unit
