Job summary

EPTA GROUP is seeking a Mechanical Engineer III to oversee structural design and reliability of refrigerated display cases. The role involves planning, analysis, and coordination across design teams to bring concepts to production.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of experience, a Bachelor's in Engineering, and strong knowledge of structural testing, CAD tools, and manufacturing considerations. HVAC&R exposure is a plus and Epta supports remote work where feasible.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering is required.
  • At least 5 years of related experience.
  • Understanding of practical engineering science and technology.
  • Solid knowledge of structural design and testing.
  • Knowledge of design and testing for reliability.
  • Proficient with MS Office suite.
  • Basic working knowledge of CAD software.
  • Basic working knowledge of structural analysis software.
  • Basic working knowledge of SAP is a plus.
  • Familiarity with production of precision plans, blueprints, drawings and models.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare design specifications, analyses and recommendations for presentation and approval.
  • Lead technical projects from concept to production.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams (drafters, engineers, technicians) to implement designs.
  • Design/re-design products to improve performance or reduce costs while meeting regulatory requirements (UL, NSF, DOE).
  • Design products for manufacturability, assembly and reliability.
  • Conduct investigations involving material origination or modification.
  • Perform testing and structural analysis of refrigerated cases.

Mechanical Engineer III
Job Purpose

This engineer is responsible for the structural design and reliability of refrigerated display cases.

Qualifications
  • Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering.
  • Requires at least 5 years’ related experience.
  • Understanding of the practical application of engineering science and technology.
  • Solid knowledge of structural design and testing.
  • Knowledge of design and testing for reliability.
  • Microsoft Office suite.
  • Basic working knowledge of CAD software.
  • Basic working experience with structural analysis software.
  • Basic working knowledge of the SAP environment a plus.
  • Requires knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
  • Experience in the HVAC&R industry is desirable.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Sense of ownership & urgency with projects and work assignments.
  • Design management experience in reviewing models, drawings and Bills of Material a plus.
  • Experience working with sheet metal parts and plastics a plus.
Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare design specifications, analyses and recommendations for presentation and approval.
  • Technical responsibility for planning, organizing and conducting technical projects or phases of projects involving design and development.
  • Project coordination responsibility of taking designs through the cross functional approval and change implementation from concept to production. Coordinate the efforts of drafters/designers, engineering technicians and machine shop personnel as required by assigned projects.
  • Design and/or redesign products to develop new products, improve performance, and/or reduce costs while meeting regulatory requirements (UL, NSF, DOE).
  • Design products for Manufacturability, Assembly and Reliability.
  • Conduct independent technical investigations involving the origination or modification of material.
  • Testing and structural analysis of refrigerated cases.
